S4 - What to carry it in

S4 - What to carry it in
Posted on: 10.10.2010 by Julissa Serrone
Aside from the case meant for it, how do you guys plan on transporting your S4. I'm looking for a cool looking packpack that it will fit in, withough having to drop major bucks. Was looking at one of the old UDG bags, but I believe it's about an inch too small. Any ideas?

Does no one else believe that $150 is quite a lot just for a bag? Not just this one, they all seem to be pretty pricey!

You can only imagine the thread lengths on those church wives' community s when the "what buns to put out for the vicar" topic gets started on a Sunday morning. 289 pages on icing options alone...

this looks great! it looks like it'll fit my novation remote sl 25 also for my Live PA gigs too!

From what I've read and heard its allowed as carry on. Its measurements apparently fall within the airline requirements. I'm looking into getting this trolley and this was one of my main concerns.

It has a SRP of $279 but should be on sale online or in stores for $249.

Its a bit pricey IMO but thats what you get buying a Traktor branded UDG trolley.

Looks great jay2 - any idea of price? Its not listed on UDG site.

[edit - found it on NI, 249 Euro - quite steep]

While these trollies and flightcases look cool, a few of the members here (myself included) like the idea of just having a simple, softshell backpack. Here's a backpack I currently own, which will soon become my transport. Lacks a really nice secondary pocket, but there's plenty of room inside the main roll compartment.
I own a medium right now. When my newly ordered S4 arrives, I can post pictures if anyone wants to see.

Seriously, common. This is the second thread today i've seen like this. It's a good find, and i'm sure it wouldn't fit under "Controllers, Mods, and Gear Reviews" but it's not a review.

This looks great! IF you travel a lot. I really want something like this, but the $280 price is a put off for me. I get out about 2 times a month locally, so I decided to pick up the odyssey case that runs for $99 without the laptop slide/stand.

Looks like NI listened to the "how am I meant to carry my S4 around in that?!" feedback about their really heavy hard case, because they've teamed up with UDG to make a more practical trolley:

the PDF has the price. It's a lot .... 249EUR/$279, but that's MSRP. It'll retail a bit less, I guess

I checked the measurements and it should house the S4, your laptop (13"-15"), and has extra pockets for headphones, audio interfaces, hard drives, condoms... etc.

You will be shocked at how much this slim bag can hold.
Zappos also sells it, and the Oakley site has not posted it as of yet. Note: this is NOT the "surf Bag"

This bag actually looks like a great bet. They list the dimensions at 20"x13.5"x5.5", just enough room to house the s4, and the padding looks legit. For $100 I'm definitely going to have to consider this.

Ok guys- I went into my local Oakley store at the mall and found a nice contender for the S4. It is called the "Status Pack" and sells for $99; only available in black.
I checked the measurements and it should house the S4, your laptop (13"-15"), and has extra pockets for headphones, audio interfaces, hard drives, condoms... etc.
It also comes with a 13" laptop neoprene sleeve.
It is modestly padded all around, but I would not dare to test how protective it is. The material is not as sturdy as the more premium models made by oakley, but what I like about it the most is the extremely lightweight design that will lend its function to what you are actually carrying in terms of weight.
I would also add a custom neoprene sleeve for the S4 for added protection.
This will be light and easy to travel with

You will be shocked at how much this slim bag can hold.
Zappos also sells it, and the Oakley site has not posted it as of yet. Note: this is NOT the "surf Bag"

I was able to take a few photos...
