hello from germany!

i have buy diodes 1N4001. my question is:

what is the correct direction for the diodes?
button -> ground or ground -> button?

The band would be on the side NEAREST to the button. Clear enough?

My diodes have got a small black band which signifies that it won't allow the signal back up through it.

Lets say this is the diode and the two lines near each other are the blocking thing

Should it go Ground wire> Diode || | > arcade buton

nb they have paper on the end in packet. red paper is by this black band and white paper is the other end.

does this make sense?

any help would be massive

im understand, the right direction is from ground to button.

I put the white band towards the button.
