Problem with spin on jog wheel
Posted on: 30.03.2011 by Shellie Dhaenens
Hi guys

Sorry if this is a repost, but I couldn't find a similar post.

My left jog wheel is almost impossible to spin. I looked at the "Jog Wheel Maintenance on VCI-100 and VCI-300"-video, but it seems like I have a different problem. When the jog wheels are off, I can see that the left jog is lower than the right one (http://img852.imageshack.us/i/p3300003w.jpg/), which means that the wheel and the optical sensor grinds against each other when I spin it - or at least that's what I believe is causing it to be hard to spin.

I've uploaded two more pictures: the first picture is how it probably should like for it to spin properly, and the second picture is how it actually looks. It seems like something is missing or broken, since the wheel isn't held up by it self - or have I just tightened a screw too much - or not enough?

Thank you in advance for your help! If my problem isn't clear enough, please just ask me to elaborate :-)

Thank you for your reply :-)

I am able to move the assembly up and down the shaft to where it needs to be, but when I turn the VCI100 over again, the assembly and the entire jog wheel drops down a little bit (as the first picture shows). My fear is that something inside has been damaged because of pressure on the jog wheel, but my hope is that I just did something wrong :-)

If you loosen the alan screw , are you not able to move the assembly up or down the shaft to where it needs to be?
