Traktor S4 fader is broken, help?
Posted on: 21.08.2011 by Dierdre Ald
Hi,

I'm having a massive problem with my S4 controller. The A channel fader will not work. I've attached a video to describe the problem. I've re-calibrated 10 times and nothing happens. I've got a HUGE gig next weekend and I need advice.

Is the unit under warranty? the unit is insured but I'm not sure I can get a new one within the week. The S4 is 9 months old and get's used approx 3 times a week for 4-7 hour gigs.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

i had the same problem, its hardware not software, best bet is to call NI support because it is covered under the warranty and they should be able to fix it. if that does not work then i would suggest taking it to a musical repair shop and telling them the issue, they should maybe be able to aid you.

In my case, i hadn't had the crossfader ON in the software, so when i turned it on, it wasn't set well...i've posted a photo, you'll see what i mean...hopefully you have the same problem:-D

Had the same problem. Got a new one from native. But it took about 2 and a half month to get it.

well you could use Decks C&D just like A&B and use deck B as a third deck. that shouldn't limit you too much.

I would call native instruments though

I can, and if that is the last resort I'll do it. However i use 4 decks a lot of the time and C&D limits my use.

Watched your video. Could you do you gig with Deck's C & D?

Noticed this guy had a similar problem, and ended up having to get a replacement unit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2a7SQbXNlg

Might be worth calling your dealer or NI and tell them that you need a replacement quick.

Have you tried re-installing the TSI file, and possibly updating the driver?
