M3D/MK5 faders in MK2 table

To those that have done this mod:
I recently completed it. Calibrated the table. Everything works great.
Except one thing I want to change.

I need clarification on one thing and then have a follow-up question.

1. Does the use of this fader eliminate quartz lock? I've seen conflicting opinions on boards. I can cut the resistor and wire but if I don't need to, I'm not going to.

2. Ideally, I would like to have my LED light up at the zero point - even if quartz lock has not engaged. As of now, this doesn't happen on my table (hence question no. 1). I don't know if this is because quartz lock is disabled by the fader or if I screwed up the installation of that LED, or if I had a bad LED. All of my other LED mod's work fine so this one threw me off.

Thanks all-
