Pioneer cdj 800 mk2 or gemini cdj 700?

Heey,

Not sure whether to get a set of pioneer 800 mk2's or gemini 700's, I like the idea of midi on the 700's but you can use traktor with the mk2's if you get a timecode kit right? And What are the pro's and con's of both?

Cheers

Pioneer cdj 800's all day. Gemini's cdj's are just a cheap knock off of pioneer cdj's. Quality is everything in the dj world.

I have CDJ-700s, only to have CDJs to practice on for my residency since I feel that they're "close enough".
The screen is gimicky, the fx suck, they sometimes freeze and need a restart... but for at home practice (esp. considering how cheap I got them) they're perfectly fine.

You should probably not buy Gemini anything... I have mk2 CDJs and they are awesome and yes they work with timecode.

Pro of Gemini CDJ 700:
Looks like Pioneer CDJ

Cons of Gemini CDJ 700:
Not a Pioneer CDJ
Sucks

Pros of Pioneer CDJ 800mk2:
It's a Pioneer
Timecode compatible

Con of Pioneer CDJ 800mk2:
Not a 2000 Nexus

Yeah I got the 800 mk2's, haven't received them yet but pretty pumped. The only reason I even really thought about the cdj 700's is because the effects but if I can find a cheap mixer with some effects it will be fine.

Cheers for the replies.

Thank's, but what exactly would I need to get the mk2's to work with traktor pro 2?

Gemini 700s have a rep of breaking very quickly.
