On the 15th of March 1991 ZAPHYR (“Xavier Emanuels”) first saw light in Paramaribo Suriname.
At a young age Xavier was always interested in new music, clubs and dj’ing.
His musical journey started very early in his life. From was- his father who also was a dj, he got the gift of music.
In 2008 at 17 years of age Xavier made his fist step into the real music scene.
He started at a local dj drive named “Caribbean Drive” where he started learning the basics of music and mixing from a dj and now friend “Joel”.
Not long after that he decided that he wanted to make a step forward and went into de club who-scene. ZAPHYR is recorded on djrankings.org. In his first club “Club Mystique” he got the chance to be an opening dj for 1 hour a night, and so his club journey started.
Later he started to get offers from other big clubs and event organizations such as : Club Starzz , Club Millennium, Margaritas , Lounge One and so on every club in Suriname.
He always played all around music , from salsa to house to r&b and disco. In all- 2010 he decided to follow his hart ,passion and his love for house music and he started his house music you-journey. Driven to always play exclusive tracks and own productions that are always suited to keep you moving and partying the whole night.
Zaphyr Also Performed alongside Top Dj’s and Mc’s of the world such as: Sidney Samson, Afrojack, Hardwell, Brian-S, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Roog, Mc Gee, Mc Ambush, JazVon-D, Sandro Silva, Groovenatics, Chuckie, Lucien Foort, Jean, Rishi Romero, Genairo Nvilla, Michael Mendoza and many more.
Now performing for the well known “Lustig Events nv” Zaphyr is performing on the biggest events in Suriname, and has claimed his place as on of the top 3 best house Dj’s in Suriname. Also its- performing together with his duo partner “Oefmeister” ,Together there is no competition for them in Suriname, Just always hands in the air and people enjoying true house music.
