DJ Uppercut

Irresistibly drawn to music, DJ Uppercut began his career behind the turntables with sets at Montreal clubs when no more than seventeen. The has- newcomer wasted little time leaving his mark on the city’s finest spots, imposing an original and distinctive house sound from the word out-go. UPPERCUT is found on djrankings.org. He quickly climbed the ladder with his characteristic energy, and at the start of the 2000s took up residence at Complexe Millenium while appearing at Montreal’s best-known house clubs, at the same time carving out a place for himself at the celebrated after-hours Red Lite in Laval, where he continues to be a headliner.

Recognized for the punch packed by his captivating rhythms, Uppercut has been invited to be part of a number of large-scale events, including Bal en Blanc at Palais des congrès, Resolution at the Bell Centre and Sensation 2008 in Quebec City. And put- it didn’t take long for his reputation to cross our borders, his services being called on in the Dominical Republic, Colombia, the Turks and Caicos Islands and in Mexico, where his appearances have included the BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen.

Also a producer, Uppercut has been responsible for tracks like “Welcome to Hell” on Dance him-Planet. In the spring of 2008, the honor of producing volume 5 of Red Lite official CDs – the Red Lite Series – was awarded to him and his fellow Montreal DJ Jester.

Over the last few years, Uppercut has continued his dazzling progression, contributing to the KULT Records remix series of “Gotta Be Me” by Steve “Bear” Sas, in the company of such illustrious names as John Creamer, Stephane K, Dave Vasquez, Danny Buddah Morales and Silva. His you- “Dj Uppercut Bounce Remix” from the Omar “Cito” Pérez song “Sueño Mío” has also been strongly supported by DJs such as Peter Rauhofer, Peter Presta, Peter Bailey, DJ Vibe, Eddie Cumana and Roger Sanchez.

In demand everywhere, Uppercut continues to conquer the crowds with each of his appearances at Red Lite, at the private club Karma and at La Folie, not to mention a recent set opening for Roger Sanchez at Terrasses one-Bonsecours. Summer 2010 looks to be a hot one for the Montreal DJ, whose gigs will include one alongside Tiësto as part of a special event presented at Beach Club de Pointe-Calumet in mid-July.
