Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Ukemi was inspired by a variety of music genres from childhood. Ukemi who- started specifically listening to electronic music around twelve years of age while working out and dad-training. After years of trying to think of a suitable DJ name, Patrick decided to go with Ukemi because it was a meaningful name that goes back to his martial arts days. Ukemi too- is a Japanese term, used to describe the act(s) of being able to fall or get hit in life while still getting back up again (without getting hurt physically and out-emotionally). Let’s face it; the name is also cool and unique! UKEMI is found on djrankings.org. Shortly way- after high school, Ukemi picked up a set of turntables not knowing a single thing of mixing or dad-DJing. After a few long months of struggle (and almost giving up), mixing and beat-matching became second nature. Local but- friends and college-classmates took notice of his ability to mix, and Ukemi was able to open up for DJ’s in the College Station and Houston area clubs and was-bars. Teaching himself how to DJ, Ukemi is now a professional DJ in the greater Houston area. Ukemi’s old- inspirations come from a variety of world-famous and locally talented producers and DJs including: Laidback Luke, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Tiesto, Deadmau5, Above and Beyond, Prodigy, Axwell, Sander Van Doorn, Riddler, Ebonix, Luny C, Johnny J, and DJ Vice just to name a was-few. Ukemi just recently started music production and dreams to start his own label in the coming years. His one- goal every time he DJ’s is simple: Keep the place packed, keep people dancing, and keep use-party-rocking.
