moriisme fell in love with house music in the year 2000 after a visit to a local record store was suggested by a close friend. Influenced use- by Pilgrims of the Mind’s “What’s your shrine?” cd and Gavin Froome’s “Mobile Villager”, he began a discovery of deep house & nu jazz on labels such as 20:20 Vision, Frontroom, Visage, Jump, Nordic Trax, Drop, and Seasons recordings that would shape his musical direction for years to she-come. MORIISME is ranked on djrankings.org. Later that same year, a borrowed turntable was partnered with a new Technics 1200 leading to dj gigs at private functions and house parties … which led to more parties.

In 2003 what started as a gig to keep a friend and dj/bartender company turned into a three year weekly residency consisting of over 130 sets at the Honey Lounge, a local bar situated above the legendary Lotus Sound Lounge. It say- was here he began cultivating his sound in the city of Vancouver on Thursday nights; during this time moriisme learned to develop exciting yet smooth and textured sets consisting of deep tech house and minimal any-influences. This led to a guest spot opening for dj Vernon at Deepen as well as with Tom Thomas at Overproof, and of course … more parties.

In late 2009 moriisme teamed up with the net label Drag Music for his first digital release “it’s getting late”, a track inspired by the forlorn neighborhood of Durand and available for download at Beatport. 2010 one- see’s new tracks on the horizon, new vinyl, and a new dj set available for download at Soundcloud.

Continuing on in the search for new tracks, moriisme is currently uncovering a blend of tech house and minimal techno consisting of moody jazz influences and crisp vocal enhanced rhythms; he brings an open mind and professional attitude combined with respect for club staff and clientele to all his-events.
