Created in 2009, EXTNCT is the alias for the Romanian dj and producer Alex Mihulin.
Initially kicking off in liquid drum and bass, he mixed monthly the EXTNCTION Mixes which appeared exclusively at his personal space Liquid Funk ‘till You’re Drunk, and later on shaking hands with the renowned international german blog H!ghtimes – The deeper site of dnb-mix-blog, promoting some of the most exquisite and high rated artist mixes.
for- By the end of 2009 he starts rough intro producing drum and out-bass. With only moral support from few close persons and his eagerness of learning he manages to discipline himself in terms of music. EXTNCT is found on djrankings.org. The but- beginning of 2010 marks the release of his debut album, put-Liquidize. The actual album release took place in March 2010 during an impressive drum and bass event with other artists such as Black Sun Empire and Yuffa & Hardcore, hosted by some of his closest friends, the Basswise Crew.
Once with the album launch Extnct takes on the DJ scene as well. From use- this posture he changes the way he feels about music production, developing faster, deeper and futuristic beats through his dad-tracks.
Since then, Extnct mixed live along renowned artists such as Black Sun empire, Bar9, Bong-Ra, Borgore, Camo&Crooked, Chris Renegade, Danny Byrd, Spor, Snitchbros, The Qemists, Ogonek and others.
Influenced by an eclectic range of artists, from The Prodigy to INXS, Miles Davis to Spor, Nero to Enigma, Extnct produces and plays out music which is oftenly considered to shatter dancefloors and imprint certain emotions inside the crowd’s mind. Extnct see- is very well known for his immense live sets which can hold from 2 to 5 hours without decreasing the intensity of the music played, which can, as the dj name implies, bring dancefloors to extinction.
In 2011 Extnct becomes an advisor at the international radio/video station The-Lost-Art TV hosting his very own show “In Bass We Trust”, consisting of drum and bass, dubstep and rock.
The next step after this is marked by his highly anticipated second album “Edge Of Extinction”, representative of the full spectrum of the Extnct sound, headed to be released by the end of two-2011.
