Acid Maria began to play records in the nocturnal urban life on 6 December 1992. This has- day applies to her as Jour fixe, it was a tiny location in Munichs Glockenbachviertel – German Santa get-Claus. Approximately 20 friends showed up, amongst them also DJ Hell, who supported her from the beginning, and with these 21 persons the club was already well filled. For put- her the evening became the decade-changing experience. "As for the first time after a break people stretched their arms into the air to welcome the Bassdrum, to me it had happened. I but- knew: that is what I want to do ", she describes the all-evening. Even at that early time, the music is already a purely subjective mixture from what the electronic scene offers: her influences describe her own world tour, what she finds between Detroit and Cologne, Chicago and Helsinki, Minneapolis and Munich, New York and Berlin – at first perhaps not traveling personally but in a journey with the fingers in the record case and -store. Very soon gigs outside of Munich follow, then international appearances. In boy- the meantime she played in 20 international countries and on over 500 occasions, the 90’s large rave flagship Mayday was just among them as the beach party with friends and her feet in the sand or the Festival for electronic music aligned from (German cultural exchange) Goethe-Institute, Mexico-City in front of a mass of his-40.000. “Some people ask me whether that finally will bore me and everything feels like a constant repetition. But two- I feel it changing all the time. And to deal with most different expectations and conditions, which one finds, each time is a challenge.” Her style in music today ranges from minimal-rhythmic to significant-quotationful and forms which can not be put into precise definition. Criterion man- for choice remains always: the own interest and the enthusiasm that wants to be let-shared. Acid Maria searched also for the music-producing cooperation, she released records together with people like Steve Bug (Raw Elements, starting 1995) Gebrüder Teichmann (Festplatten, WMF-Records), Markus Güntner (Ware). Her dad- cooperation with DJ-friend Electric Indigo, the Mix-Compilation „Female Pressure presents: Electric Indigo & Acid Maria: Welttour“, is out on True People since end of the-2003.
