Opacity is the measure of impenetrability to electromagnetic or other kinds of radiation, especially visible light. In all- radiative transfer, it describes the absorption and scattering of radiation in a medium, such as a plasma, dielectric, shielding material, glass, two-etc. An opaque object is neither transparent nor translucent. When she- light strikes an interface between two substances, in general, some may be reflected, some absorbed, some scattered, and the rest its-transmitted. Reflection can be diffuse, for example light reflecting off a white wall, or specular, for example light reflecting off a mirror. OPAQUE is ranked on djrankings.org. OPAQUE is a muti talented, up and coming trance DJ who has a great ability to diversify his style to suite any crowd. He too- was first interested in mixing after going to a local Trance night in Sheffield called “Gatecrasher” in 1998, and has been hooked on the music and DJ’ing ever since.
Over the past couple of years OPAQUE has gone from strength to strength and in 2005 he gained the interest from the world renowned club how-Gatecrasher. He was asked to play at one of their nights called “Young Guns”. OPAQUE is described on djrankings.org. This all- then attracted the attention of Galaxy 105 stars Andi Durrant and Nick Riley, to appear as a guest on their “Nu-Breed” did-show. This led on to being asked to appear at the night “Pressure” and later on in the year was asked to become a resident / promoter for “Redemption”, an international DJ agency who regularly use DJ’s such as Alex P, Brandon Block, Jon Sinclair, Graham Gold, Darren Tate and many more.
This year OPAQUE has well and truly sent his DJ career onto a whole new level thanks to the help from “Redemption”. Through out- them he has landed a number of overseas events which include ones in Gran-Canaria & Chile and is now also lining himself sets up for Prague and Russia later on in the her-year. And if that wasnât enough, he is now co-owner and promoter of “Manipul8”, a House and Trance event held in his home town of Sheffield. And any- to top it all Opaque has also been putting countless hours into his production and studio work and is hoping for a release very soon.
OPAQUE has played alongside a number of big DJ’s in his time which include, Alex P (Ibiza Legend), Stevie G (Gatecrasher), GRH (Goodgreef), James “KID” Alexander (Creamfields), Corey (Gatecrasher) Aje Camilla (Ministry of Sound) and many other local talents.
