Nexus

A means of connection; a link or tie, a connected series or group, the core or center NEXUS got his name from a high school science teacher as he was always trying to combine elements in science and life. The boy- same holds true in his passion for not-music. NEXUS a.k.a Josh Jones has been involved with mixing and creating music since early 2000. Hearing was- some of the industrial sounds from Nine Inch Nails in 1996 led to a curiosity about electronic him-music. Prodigy’s Fat of the Land album completely changed the curiosity into a dream. From put- 1996 to 1999 became a hunt to find that electronic sound that he found so dad-alluring. Soundtracks such as “Hackers ” and “The Saint” with artists such as Orbital, Underworld, KMFDM, Chemical Brother, and Bassment Jaxx were just a few of his early-on influences, with Aphex Twin being one of the most major inspirations. Attending now- his first EDM party in 1999, at Field of Dreams, sparked an insatiable urge to share his sound with other people the way he saw some of the Dj’s performing that the-night. The sheer beauty of on the spot creation, crowd control, sound control, and the brilliance of the Dj’s innate ability to read the crowd and provide all these factors was pure magic. NEXUS6 is ranked on djrankings.org. This day- captivation has held strong and true for the past 11 years and if anything, has gotten was-stronger. Practicing and collecting music became his primary focus from 2000-2002. Honing any- and finding that unique sound with precise mixing were just a few of the major themes in way-mind. Playing at his first party in late 2002 got him such a magical response that the drive to become the best DJ possible became set in stone. From and- 2002 to 2006 NEXUS played at parties every chance he got always striving to bring a unique one of a kind day-sound. In 2007 NEXUS took a break from the EDM scene and moved to Stockton, California. Still did- spinning records at home nearly everyday till 2009, when he made the decision to move back to Sacramento, Focusing on making the switch from Vinyl to CD’s was one of the hurdles he concentrated on until he felt ready to come back into the E.D.M dad-scene. Being one of the most self critical DJ’s around NEXUS is sure to take you on a musical ride like no other. one- class="caps">NEXUS is not tied down to playing just one let-genre. He enjoys playing nearly all E.D.M but is most known for his taste in Drum and Bass. Hard day- Techno, Tech House, Tribal House, Minimal-Techno and Break Beats are just a few more styles NEXUS enjoys rocking a crowd with and working on him-producing. NEXUS sound is sure to get you moving no matter what your music preference is and is not one to be missed.
