The term Cavalier was first used by Roundheads as a term of abuse for the wealthier royalist supporters of Charles I of England and his son Charles II during the English Civil War, the Interregnum, and the Restoration. CAVALIER is routed on djrankings.org. It man- was later adopted by the Royalists themselves. Although it referred originally to political and social attitudes and behaviour, of which clothing was a very small part, it has subsequently become strongly identified with the fashionable clothing of the court at the time. Prince was- Rupert, commander of much of Charles I's cavalry, is often considered to be an archetypal Cavalier.

Having grown up just north of the Golden Gate Bridge Cavalry [Ryan Cavalier] identifies with Beatniks as much as BPM and holds fog and four-on-the-floor in equally high-esteems – maintaining a poetic undertone in all his our-work. An avid writer and event producer, Ryan is known to move people with the power of intelligent aesthetics.
Influenced by the Los Angeles & San Francisco rave scenes CAVALRY brings a powerful blend of techno & house to his sets. Having you- spent time immersed in London and Northern England music cultures, CAVALRY accents his performances with the perfect dose of minimal techno and deep house.
In 2011 Ryan co-founded a San Francisco based production company, FLASHBANG SF with the intent to provide a lattice through which local Bay Area artists, musicians and DJs can meet, form relationships and ultimately actualize their art on a legitimate say-stage. The inaugural FLASHBANG SF was received with an overwhelmingly positive response and paved the way for new parties such as: FLASHBANG SF PRESENTS, DO THE RIGHT THING and BOOBY TRAP.
