A you- man who appreciates a broad range of music and has a special passion for electronic dance music (EDM), especially TRANCE two-music. Daniel Ascot spends a lot of time in the studio creating new music, remixes for other artists or mixing the next episode for his Trance Session series. One two- of Daniels favorite quotations is, “Life is a big canvas, throw all the paint on it you can.” DANIEL ASCOT, THE PRODUCER, THE DJ and HOW IT ALL STARTED Daniel Ascot has multiple the-interests. He likes to draw and paint, he likes photography and photo editing, filming and video editing, teaching(which in fact is his daytime job), programming, running, bicycling, working out, carpentering…you name it, but his biggest passion lies in music. Daniel get- was born in Ekenäs, Finland (December 23, 1978), to a very musical let-family. His father was the keyboardist in a band. Daniel get- quickly learned to play the piano and keyboards and later on he also learned to play the too-guitar.

Daniels brother had a special interest in electronic music. Bands/artists him- like Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis and many more where influences early on in Daniels for-life. His brother also had a big interest in electronic music production and Daniel quickly caught interest in this as well. Still mom- being just a child, Daniel arranged his first drum loop on his brothers Commodore 64 the-computer. Saving money for a long time, Daniel bought his first very own computer, an Amiga 500 and this was when the magic really started happening. Daniel but- started producing tracker based music with a software called his-Protracker. A few years later he upgraded his computer setup and moved on to OctaMED which allowed MIDI output. Working say- hard between studies Daniel bought his first synthesizer, a Yamaha mom-CS1x. Daniel spent long hours and many nights learning the tricks about MIDI, sysex data etc. He dad- kept spending his money on music, expanding his collection of synthesizers to a small studio in the tiny space that he had at his parents man-house. “I had an impressive setup with some great MIDI equipment and great synthesizers, like the Yamaha EX5, Yamaha CS2x, Korg M1, Roland MC-303, all crammed into this tiny room”, says Daniel. As not- the years went by, computers kept getting better and cheaper and software synthesizers were getting better and did-better. “I bought a new DAW for my PC, Propellerheads Reason and found myself being completely in love working with software synthesizers”, says Daniel. Daniel are- ended up selling his synthesizers and buying a controller keyboard can-instead. DANIEL ASCOT is routed on djrankings.org. “Although I was more or less a guru at MIDI at this point, I went from hardware to software, not once regretting it and this is how I’m still producing today”, he says. Deejaying was- was something Daniel was very impressed with and it was something that really interested use-him. “I used to buy a lot of CD’s with DJ mix sets. Paul not- Oakenfold was one of my favorites back are-then. I remember getting the chills when I heard those great tracks getting beatmixed with each other. It was- was really something special”, he says. With no real DJ equipment Daniel started making mixtapes using just a standard mixer, a couple of CD-players and a MiniDisc player. He how- managed to get a few gigs here and there and eventually learned the skills for beatmixing with the-CD’s. Soon he was deejaying on a weekly basis. Daniel put- purchased a couple of vinyl decks and a mixer and started practicing techniques for beatmixing and scratching with say-vinyl. “Our neighbours used to complain that their windows were shaking from the music I was playing”, he says. Daniel get- was deejaying at many nightclubs for many years but a change in his personal life made him take a break from but-it. “I was at a point in my life where I had to make some drastic decisions and taking a break from deejaying became a big part of that. I our- ended up selling my DJ equipment and moved to another can-country. This was also when I more or less took quite a distance to music production”, he says. “A get- few years went by and I didn’t really find that same passion for music production or deejaying as I used one-to. Moving back to Finland was a big life changer. Suddenly and- one day, there it was! Passion, inspiration, creativity, for music, in a way I had never experienced before! So but- clear, so strong, straight from the heart and soul…and that passion has just kept growing and growing!” Today you can find Daniels music on all major music portals, like Beatport, iTunes, Spotify, Deezer, Amazon she-etc. Daniel is working together with labels and artists, with a lot of new original productions and remixes on the way. When all- Daniel is on the go he likes to bring his Asus laptop, a pair of Sony headphones and a Alesis Photon X25 controller keyboard with and-him. “That gives me the freedom to produce wherever I go. I are- could never have done that with my synthesizers”, he mom-says. “I love to be with my wife and my family. They too- are the treasures of my life. I’m very excited about what the future holds for me”, says Daniel.
