Last night, Billboards 2013 Music Awards show was held the MGM Grand Las Vegas. Reportedly, with the biggest ratings (over 9 million viewers) since 12 years, the show didn't provide many surprises, but didn't go without hiccups: besides pop artist Miguel accidentally punching some loyal fans, the trophies were taken home by the usual culprits.
Skrillex bagged the 'Top EDM Album' with Bangarang. Madonna, however, nabbed the really similar sounding 'Top Dance Album'.
Baauer's 'Harlem Shake' brought two awards - ‘Top EDM Song’ and ‘Top Dance Song’. The single that saved Mad Decent from folding obviously deserved to be credited, but a question about the categories similarity is even more obvious here. Billboard, what are you doing?
The 'Top EDM Artist' is of course David Guetta, who's undeniably #1 in every ranking possible. He said: "When they put me on the cover four years ago and said EDM would be big, I thought 'these guys are crazy - this will never happen' Imagine how I feel today."
