Avicii influenced by Ray Charles and Kiss

In this series of interviews Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, who has between the ages of 18 and 22 become one of the most admired and famous DJ’s on the planet, at first shared the secret about his stage-name. As earlier heared stories about Buddhism from a friend and remembering Avicii being the lowest level of Buddhist hell, he got in trouble setting up an account in MySpace with all the chosen usernames being already taken. Except Avicii.

For the touring DJ with busy schedule he had nothing surprising to say about his typical days: catching the plane to the next show, check in, deciding on what tracks to bring, making sure about all things being in order and trying experience the city with going out for some dinner before the show, if there is any time left for that.

About the biggest influences to his work Avicii named Ray Charles and Kiss for the first tastemaker for music in general and Daft Punk, Steve Angello, Eric Prydz, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Laidback Luke in electronic music.

Nowadays Avicii is working on couple of new things and as he is using a lot of social media channels like Twitter and Facebook – one for whatever thoughts he has at the moment and anything he comes across on the road and other about everything from contests, song teasers to announcements – we can easily keep track about all his new releases and live shows. For the future he is hoping to do the same things in five years what he is doing today - a balanced mixture of being in tour and being in studio.
