The best trance DJ from U.S and an all-star from Netherlands have announced they'll be joining forces. From back-to-back sets to producing, Markus Schulz and Ferry Corsten have always gotten along a bit better than just your average colleagues. Now they’ll be stepping on stage side by side to form a huge DJ duo named New World Punx, a hybrid of Corsten’s hit ’Punk’ and Schulz' ’The New World’.
When these two heavy-weights come out of the studio, they've got top singles in their hands. ’Loops & Tings’ and ’Stella’ are perfect evidence of that. The former reached #1 on Beatport’s “Top 100 Trance”, the latter was one of the most played tracks of the top radio shows for weeks. Reportedly, the NWP sound will be harder, more passionate and aggressive then the melodic style of trance they're used to.
The initial inspiration for NWP came during Schulz and Corsten’s back-to-back set at Godskitchen in Birmingham in March 2012, turning into tag-teaming sets at Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) at Tao Beach in Las Vegas, and Echostage in Washington D.C., the latter a mind-boggling seven-hour gig that people could watch live in the U.S. on SiriusXM Radio.
The official world debut will take place on March 24th at Mansion, Miami. Two more North American shows are in stall, before March 30th at Madison Square Garden, at the huge A State Of Trance 600 show , and March 31st at Bal en Blanc, Montreal.
Forthcoming releases by NWP are in the works as we speak.
