"It’s a thrill when we play stadiums in the States,” Mick Jagger said in a statement, “the energy is always amazing!” Adds Keith Richards: “I’ve always loved playing the states. It’s a great crowd."
While the group continues work on a new studio album, Abkco, which curates the group’s early catalog, is celebrating the 1968 Stones with three special releases emanating from that year: a remastered and repackaged “Beggars Banquet” vinyl reissue; a restored version of Jean-Luc Godard’s “Sympathy for the Devil” film (which documents the Stones recording the titular song); and, early next year, an expanded reissue of the legendary “Rock and Roll Circus” video and album.
Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood kicked off the UK leg of the No Filter tour with two huge gigs at the London Stadium in May. Liam Gallagher was reunited with former Oasis member Bonehead during a support slot, while James Bay joined the Stones for a special rendition of ‘Beast of Burden’.
This jaunt will mark their first extended run of shows in the U.S. since 2015's "Zip Code" tour, and it celebrates their rock legacy with a career-spanning setlist. In Europe, the tour was the most commercially successful concert tours of 2017 and 2018.
The setlist for the tour carries the hits like "Satisfaction," Jumpin' Jack Flash," "Sympathy For The Devil," and "Start Me Up," but also pays mind to deep cuts like "Play With Fire," "Wild Horses," "Rocks Off" and "Angie." Their last studio album was 2016's Blue & Lonesome, their 25th American studio album to date.
"I have Bob Marley things that I kind of sometimes do and move around to. And then I do a dance warm-up: I do a couple of, like, current tunes for a dance warm-up."
The tour also will make stops in Jacksonville, Florida; Seattle; Foxborough, Massachusetts; Houston; Glendale, Arizona; Pasadena and Santa Clara, California; Denver; Washington, D.C.; Philadelphia; and East Rutherford, New Jersey.
