Upcoming album+tour, an exciting competiton and a FREE track by Bonobo

Simon Green, better known as Bonobo, is one of the most talented phenomenon in music today, period. Why? Simply because everything he releases is good. Of course, the critical thinking reader will be offended here and protest - how can that be, everybody has their ups and downs? And that is true for both life in general, and the creative works within that life. But the thing is, Mr. Green has never sold out or never just a filled the album with a track. So everything he's produced is good, the majority of the tracks are great and many are just brilliant. The following, FREE release is pending between great and brilliant. More about the track and the accompanying video, below. First, there are news regarding an upcoming LP by Bonobo and for the lucky people in North-America and Europe - A TOUR!  The album called 'The North Borders' will be out April 1, 2013 and the tour kicks off the next day - full list of tour dates and venues below!

After the announcement of the album and tour, Simon had this to say on his Facebook account:

"Thank you for the huge response to The North Borders announcement! It means a lot that you are as excited about this record as I am. It's been an pretty intense two years making this album, I can't wait for you to hear it. Definitely a progression from Black Sands too.

Also, just to clarify. All dates on this tour are LIVE, (with a band). I haven't done the 'live band' thing in a while as I needed to focus on finishing this record. I'm assembling a new live show now tho and can't wait to get out on the road!"

Bonobo has been actively releasing music since the new millenium started. The first EP 'Terrapin' came out on Tru Thoughts, UK's leading indie, soul, hip-hop, nu-funk and dance music label founded by Robert Luis a year before the release in 1999. 'The North Borders' will be out on Ninja Tunes. Every 2 or 3 years, Green releases his studio album, showing that the more you work on something the better it is. Although Simon has mostly toured the world as a DJ under the moniker Bonobo or Barakas, this time around it's going to be a live band tour. Usually the man of the hour takes on laying the basslines and leading the band. We'll see what he has in store for us this time!

White Label COMPETITION: Ninja Tune has pressed 250 white label records featuring a brand new track from the album. These 12"s will be hidden in some of the best indie record shops all over the world over the next few weeks. Each 12" has a unique code within it, which can be entered below for a chance to win a top secret grand prize. The records will be appearing at different times in different stores and countries, so keep an eye on your local shop and on bonobomusic.com for more news. Happy hunting.

You may have heard the track on Bonobo's exquisite Boiler Room set already. Besides tunes of from the 'Black Sands Remixes', one of the highlights and the track that turned the most heads was - Cirrus. A production seeing Bonobo take on the genre of house, keeping his trademark eccentricity. The flavor of Eastern Sun hasn't been lost, the overflowing percussions, bells, keys and basslines have just gotten that added kickdrum to make the crowds pulsate more than usual.

Oh, and accompanying the free track - a hell of a cool video by Cyriak Harris. Starting out looping clips from the fast-paced '60s, the video smoothly transforms to surreal kaleidoscopic patterns. The collage of gifs brings forth notions of the  production-line, fast life and urbanism. Hard to decide which is better, the track or the video! Download 'Cirrus' for FREE at http://bonobomusic.com. Enjoy!
