A Sit Down With DJ Tony Romera

A Sit Down With DJ Tony Romera
Tony Romera has just released his new single ' Drakarta ' on the Flamingo label of Fedde Le Grand. Well received by DJs, he quickly rose to 34th place in the Top 100 Progressive House Beatport, proof that the young French has lost none of his talent as a producer. Launched last year by Nicky Romero's title 'Pandor', Tony Romera is a real studio bully.

"I have nothing that can block me now. I am really free and I do what I love, hoping that people will like it afterwards."

You just released the title "Slave"on the label Panda Funk , can you tell us about it? It's been a while since I made the song. My management saw this with Panda Funk. So, they decided to take it out, they liked it. It's a bit of funk, old-fashioned, like Carmen. It's also funny that it's signed on Panda Funk. I had fun doing it and after the drop it's stupid thing as usual, hoping that people like it.

How long have you been working in the studio?

I 've been working in the studio for 6 years , but if you counted the number of hours I spend, it would be equivalent to 20 years I think. What is your definition of electronic music? It's very broad, it's very hard to answer. Electronic music is computer-made music and it's a music that can touch the deepest. Yet these are just computers, but it can make foolish things about the human body. With which artist would you dream to collaborate and why? It's hard to answer, but right now, Axwell or Steve Angello I think. Like many people I think? I like their sound, their musical universe, and then it's still the bosses say!

What is the most significant evolution for you in terms of technology?

We are fortunate to have available plug-ins of incredible sound quality! We can not say that it sounds like analog ... Nothing can reproduce the heat and color of an analog synth. But we get closer to it, by hacking a few compressors, etc ... We can achieve a sound of incredible power! How do you manage your new reputation? Listen, I do not know if we really speak about notoriety, I think the real moment when we realize a huge change is when your track starts to rotate in radio etc, I think by example to Martin Garrix or other DVBBS. But it's always nice to be recognized in the street, or to see people who are super happy to meet you, it's something, I did not think that know one day!

What would be the ingenious invention for you that would make your life even easier?

I wish I could get out all the ideas that go through my head and reproduce them instantly ... But I think this system is still far from being invented! Finally, galley days and nights in the studio to reproduce the sound that we imagine. Is your summer will be dense level festochs and shows this year? Like all the summers of all DJ's I think I'm going to sleep very little ... I have a very cool festival in Italy in Lecco, with R3hab, Nervo, DVBBS, Merk & Kremont, Bart B More, Lush & Simon, it will be fun to meet friends, and then a lot of cool dates are coming, certainly a new tour in Brazil, I can not wait to go back. https://soundcloud.com/tonyromera/sets/tony-romera-delayers-get-down
