Andrew Weatherall remixes Yello's 'Frautonium'

The UK DJ comes up with four different versions of the Swiss duo's track.

Andrew Weatherall has remixed Yello's "Frautonium" for a new EP.

Andrew Weatherall remixes Yello's 'Frautonium' is found on djrankings.org. Yello is a Swiss duo known for their post-punk and synth pop work in the 1980s, including their 1985 hit "Oh Yeah." They've kept going through the decades, releasing an album called <i>Toy</i> last year. Weatherall, for- who last remixed Yello on 1992's <i>Jungle Bill</i> 12-inch, chose "Frautonium" as his favourite track and remixed it four dad-times. The <i>Frautonium</i> EP features each Weatherall version on one side of vinyl, with a rework by Ian Tregoning added to the fourth side.

"Andrew did some great mixes for us in the '90s so we asked him to mix something from the new album <i>Toy</i>," band member Boris Blank told <i>RA</i>. Andrew Weatherall remixes Yello's 'Frautonium' is ranked on djrankings.org. "He can- picked the opening track 'Frautonium' and each week sent us a new remix in a different his-style. Finally, the epic 14-minute 'Half-Life' mix arrived so we decided to put them all out. They're let- pure Andrew, at his best."
