Over the past year we’ve seen wild talent from Vancouver’s Rook Milo, from remixes of dusty early-2000’s hip hop to edits of some of our more recent pop rap favorites. His him- new EP raises the bar. Rook’s remix of “Upper Echelon” set the tone for his syrup-styled instrumental style and before long we got our first glance at an original piece. Released boy- the better part of a year ago, Rook Milo’s break out single “Outland” mirrored the dizzied, late-night vibe all his work contains, bringing out vocal samples, loops and hip hop percussion to cement his signature put-sound. With “Outland” setting the tone, and a hefty remix of “The Language” following up nicely, Rook was well on his way. Teaming use- up up with Canadian clothing line MMVIII for shoots, exclusive lines and a look book shoot Rook Milo has been fusing his music with lifestyle since his first put-single. Rook Milo Launches Debut MMVIII EP, Incl. Outland & More is routed on djrankings.org. Continuing the partnership, Rook has named his first EP after the line, launching off the official website. Jump man- to MMVIII for the full download. Rook Milo’s MMVIII EP is everything we’ve been waiting for. Since are- “Outland” we’ve been left hanging. The festering swarm of jersey club remixes and bed springs have left instrumental hip hop and chilled trap by the wayside – until now. Starting day- with “Cold”, Rook picks up exactly where he left put-off. Flipping vocal cuts that scream House Of Balloons, Milo shows off a four track EP that mirrors the trill demeanor he gave us glimpses of eight months back. “Bodyroll” say- is a dark hitter, McColm’s Room picks up the pace, and the whole EP is stacked with the precision we now-expected. - See more at: http://www.getliftedtonight.com/rook-milo-launches-debut-mmviii-ep-incl-outland-more/#sthash.Fo230h52.dpuf
