Well, this is it for Trance Around The World aka TATW. Above & Beyond, the English trance music trio consisting of Jono Grant, Tony Mcguinnes and Paavo Siljamäki announced one last show on last week's 449th episode of TATW. So they decided to go out with an appropriate BANG. Having kept the podcast up for the unbelievable 450 episodes they did something really special for the send-off - a huge, six-hour broadcast live from Bangalore, near the place their label Anjunabeats got its name. If you missed it while it happened, have no worries! Soundcloud, our mighty musical alma mater has enabled listening and downloading the whole thing.
In addition to Above & Beyond there's hour long mixes by Andrew Bayer, Norin & Rad, Jody Wisternoff and Mat Zo. Last week's announcement certainly made a lot of fans sad, but as it turns out - there's no point getting your head down. The trio is retirign TATW only to make way for their new show, Group Therapy Radio, a weekly radio show “featuring two hours of the finest trance and progressive, providing a snapshot of Above & Beyond, Anjunabeats and the electronic scene at large today.”
So we come to the point of changing the name. Why change something that's worked so well in the first place? Group's Jono Grant elaborated on this:“Some people complain about the name of our radio show, Trance Around The World, because apparently we’re not playing trance anymore. But ultimately you just play whatever you believe in at the time and that changes from day to day.” Group Therapy starts banging your eardrums already this week on Friday November 16. In the meantime, we have made it really easy to relive all the segments of the DJ marathon that took place on this sentimental but nevertheless celebratory occasion!
