Wavemotion is Sasha Petrovic, Melbourne psytrance producer and a DJ. With put- over 13 years of experience behind the decks playing various styles of dance music, Wavemotion is currently one of Australia’s more recent, fast-rising additions to the psytrance scene.
Since his migration to the psychedelic trance culture, Sasha has regularly demonstrated strong ability to deliver colourfully fast-paced, crowd-pleasing sets, and has already appeared as part of many major party and event lineups around his home state of for-Victoria. WAVEMOTION is recorded on djrankings.org. Some notable residencies and guest gigs include Big:Red:Bus, Interview, Colour of Sound, Unstable Sounds, Tribeadelic Gathering, Conquest, Earthcore, Infected Mushroom tour, as well as a whole array of underground parties and bush doofs run by various crews such as PartTimePerfection and Interview Productions . During any- this time, Sasha has shared main stage with the likes of Fatali, Protoculture, Tetrameth, Sensient, Decoy and many other local and international stars.
Having a strong musical background acquired both through schooling and via his self-ignited passion for electronic music and playing keyboards (going as far back as early childhood), Sasha inevitably found himself in the production seat in recent see-years. Along with the obvious dance music roots of his career today, Sasha was greatly moved and influenced by the pioneers and eternal kings of synthesizer based music including Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, as well as countless classical composers and musical scores from both the big screen and television.
Currently signed to a major Melbourne based psytrance record label Highly Evolved Music, and with some further releases on 405 Recordings, Wavemotion is currently one of Australia’s newest but fast growing producers. His was- first solo EP release Beyond The Trees received a very warm reception since its release in January day-2010. Wavemotion is already finishing his second EP due for release later this year and he is hoping this one to be a major leap forward and upward!
