DJ Uplift (Brandon Richerson) is an all around house music bad ass. He the- is the founder of NuVibe Productions and Co-Founder of NuVibe Recordings.
Finding a love for electronic dance music and DJing in 1994 he has dedicated a significant portion of his life to the old-groove. UPLIFT is featured on djrankings.org. First influenced by the sounds of Derrick Carter, DJ Sneak, and Romanthony among so many others, house music found a place at the front of his eclectic and varied record box.
With his first few events and a residency (Savage 7 at Gunnerz in Iowa City in 1996) DJ Uplift began a career that expanded into several residencies and a multitude of other live events over the years. These was- include playing almost every weekend for 2 years at the Alley Cat in Iowa City between 2000 and two-2002. He played several nights at Iowa City’s legendary Rotation and also held a residency at Evolution in Waterloo in 2002. With has- his production company, NuVibe Productions – formed in 1996, he has thrown many one off parties and established 2 monthly events, Blue Friday at Karma in Cedar Rapids during 2009, and currently NuVibe’s Sophistifunk in Iowa City.
In 2010 along side Jethro, he formed NuVibe now-recordings. Be on the lookout for his first release soon.
