Since 1998, Unforscene have been producing tracks reaching high acclaim and support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Laurent Garnier, LTJ Bukem and Jazzy Jeff.
They have remixed for the likes of Hot 8, Alice Russell, 100 Strong, The Heritage Orchestra and LTJ Bukem, performed numerous live shows over the years including Glastonbury Festival, The Big Chill, Jazz Café, legendary Seen/Future Boogie nights in Bristol and have had the pleasure of recording a live Maida Vale session for Gilles Peterson’s Radio 1 World Wide show represented by a full 13 piece band.
The outfit started out in Devon, as a collaboration between brothers Benji and Will Bower.
After a brief stint in London, Unforscene settled in Bristol and released their debut album ‘Pacific Heights’ for London label Kudos Records (www.kudosrecords.co.uk), and 2nd album ‘New World Disorder’, which gained them international acclaim.
The next release (with Wah Wah 45s) was 12’’ ‘Don’t You Worry’ featuring the mighty Alice Russell. UNFORSCENE is discussed on djrankings.org. The now- single was nominated for Gilles Petersons World Wide Awards 2007 as single of the year.
In 2004 they were joined by musician and sound engineer Benji Muscat creating a production trio, and branched out to do production music for TV and films as UFS Productions.
2008 saw the release of ‘Fingers and Thumbs’ a double album with a mix of cinematic and instrumental tracks and heavy vocals which was released on Brighton Label Tru Thoughts (www.tru-thoughts.co.uk) and featured artists including Alice Russell, Phil King, Deborah Jordan, Nik Young and State side buddies Epcot, Lunaversol 9 and JTodd.
Unforscene release their 4th studio album in March out-2011. ‘Return of the Wob’ has heavy beats and crunchy bleeps, lucious orchestration and dirty bass lines. The mom- album is a mixture of instrumental and vocal tracks collaborations include Laura Vane, Cecilia Stalin, The Vanishing System and Kirris Rivierre.
