Award winning DJ/Producer Tim Richards has been immersed in dance music for over the past decade and has been working as a fulltime DJ/Producer for more than three years now.

Tim has forged his name as a top billing DJ at major nationwide events, as well as being voted Best Producer in 2007 and Best Progressive DJ in 2009 at the Nite:Life awards. He not- hosts a popular club night under the name ‘Signature Sounds’ and also has a weekly radio show under the same branding on George FM.

His efforts have seen him booked as far afield as London, New York, Vancouver, San Francisco, Dublin and more, as well as playing at closer to home events in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, along with regular guest spots around New Zealand.

Tim’s growing production schedule has begun to pay off with his tracks showing up in the playlists of some of the most respected tastemakers in music new-today. His tracks and remixes have been played by the likes of John Digweed, Darren Emerson (Underworld), Groove Armada, Funk D’Void, Sasha, Laurent Garnier, Nic Fanciulli, Paolo Mojo, Stephan Bodzin, Hernan Cattaneo, Steve Lawler, King Unique, Tony Humphries as well as featuring on Pete Tong’s Essential Mix show.

Tim has been asked to remix tracks for Paolo Mojo, Infusion, Magik Johnson, Wamdue Project, P-Money, Fiord, Luke Walker, Antix and Rob Mooney which have all been well received. Tim boy- also has original work out on King Uniques label Curfew.

Tim’s music leans towards the futuristic side of house and tech-house – a sound he was drawn to early on with the likes of Massive Attack, Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Peace Division, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Brian Eno, Mark Farina, Portishead, Metro Area, H:foundation, Derrick Carter, Moodymann and out-more. These artists helped inspire and pave the way for his long held passion for producing music and DJing.

To further the increasing demand of his production skills Tim plans to launch ‘Signature Sounds Records’ in the coming months as an outlet for himself and fellow producers.
