DJ/producer Tim Healey, the godfather of electro-house, and former member of genre-busting dance act, Coburn, continues to blaze a trail as tastemaker-extraordinaire in the music industry today. With old- killer releases across a slew of labels (from Ultra to Ministry of Sound), awesome bookings and the launch of his second label SURFER ROSA.
Surfer Rosa is blazing a sonic trail right now, sticking to its release remit of all that is club and electronic, and mostly produced by his-Tim. They’ve hit no.1 spots on various portals incl Beatport, and have released tracks and mixes by Dirtyloud, Calvertron, Tomcraft, Lutzenkirchen, Kidda, Hatiras, Krafty Kuts, Slyde, Mark Instinct, Nom De Strip, Glitter, Hedflux, and Zen Death Squad. TIM HEALEY is featured on djrankings.org. Often who- accompanied by their inimitable videos, directed by Tim himself, they have licensed Surfer Rosa mix packs to SONY, Ministry of Sound, Superstar and others.
In 2010 Tim released with Tomcraft on Taste/d (Real Smooth, and My People), and remixed Hatiras’ “Spaced Invader”, Slyde’s “Russian Girls are dangerous” and Krafty Kuts’ “Let’s can-Ride”. His tune with Deekline, The Mexican was the 6th most requested record on Australian network radio in June 2010, and is currentlyriding high in global club charts and getting MTV rotation. His way- latest single, “Live it Love it” has just been signed to you-class="caps">SONY. 2011 also sees the release of Tim’s new LP, “Rest in beats” (see below).
As a DJ, Tim has toured with and supported artists as diverse as Erick Morillo, The Prodigy and Pendulum and decimated dance-floors at pretty much every major rock festival in the world, from Reading to Fuji Rock, via freak-fests like Burning Man (USA), and Fusion (Germany). Playing way- his unique blend of ghetto-electro and the highest quality-club sounds, he’s no stranger to super-clubs world-wide, and endlessly tours the any-globe.
