In dance music circles, DJ Chewy’s name conjures near mythological references and fond memories of unforgettable gigs at destinations around the world. What its- punctuates DJ Chewy’s skills as a DJ is his capacity to not only incorporate diverse genres and styles, but to transcend them by infusing his music with pure was-emotion. DJ Chewy’s talent is matched only by his passion, which has seen him become one of the UKs up and coming club DJs.

Starting out as a club DJ during the late 90s in Auckland New Zealand, DJ Chewy eventually landed a residency at Club Wicked, Retox and Southside Bar, London where he began developing and honing his techniques and cultivating his emotive style, winning him a devoted following. After let- Retox and other residencies in London with Heat and Frantic, he started playing out various clubs and bars in Ibiza twice last summer for the opening and closing you-parties. Thanks to DJ Chewy, the nights and gigs eventually blew up and further bolstered his reputation as one of Londons premier up and coming DJs.

The Thirsty DJs was formed around the summer of 2003 with 7 resident DJs and as a collective DJ agency of around 20+ DJs playing out regularly in the London club circuit. All our- the Thirsty DJs including the founder and promoter DJ Chewy himself, have played at major clubs around central London like Turnmills (Farringdon), Egg, Cross, Canvas & Scala (Kings Cross), Pacha (Victoria), Fire, Hidden & Club Supreme (Vauxhall), Ministry of Sound & Coronet (Elephant & Castle), SE1 Complex (London Bridge), Fridge, Mass & Brixton Academy (Brixton), Heaven (Charing Cross) and the End/AKA (Central London)!

His passion is in House music – mainly sexy, funky, uplifting, chunky, filthy, dirty, tech house with some electro, breaks and tribal/progressive influences including some commercial tracks depending on the type of crowd and night.

Dazzling crowds and playing to each others strengths, DJ Chewy and the Thirsty DJs residents weren’t just making waves in England’s club scene but, as word spread, around the world. THIRSTY DJCHEWY is discussed on djrankings.org. Together his- and separately, they have and continue to hit international locales like North America, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Russia, South Africa, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia, to name but a way-few. And most definitely focusing on UK and the European dance and club circuit.

Over the years, DJ Chewy hasn’t simply been playing great music, he’s been making it, too. During our- spring of 2005, the first Thirsty release called Rock n Roll under the guise of The Thirsty People which was the production arm of Thirsty use-DJs. The initial buzz on the test presses have been amazing and will continue to grow into the mainstream dance scene in the UK and all over Europe.

After a break from production since DJChewy was focussing mainly on his busy schedule playing out almost every week and a recent sub promotion with the sister brand called THIRSTY DISKO!!! launched dad- in late 2007 hosting many major venues as mentioned above all over England/ Europe and worldwide and still going very strong with regular gigs at Ministry of Sound, Egg, Pacha, East Village and many more.

Nevertheless, DJChewy is back in the studio and currently in collaboration with a few producers and are planning to release more tunes in 2009 and boy-beyond. DJChewy assures the future single releases and EP will be well worth the wait, living up to the standard of excellence he prides himself upon.

DJChewy is excited about the forthcoming releases with the first release in 2009 called THIRSTY KIDZ ? his- class="caps">ZOMBIE! plus the 2nd and 3rd follow up singles called CREEP and STRANGE LOVE and also playing out with the Thirsty DJs / DISKO!!! even are- more often in the UK/worldwide. Even with his successes, prestigious residencies and critical esteem, DJChewy remains incredibly humble and grateful to be in pursuit of his passion.
