Cristian Croce and Nicola Mazzetti are The Barking Dogs since 2006: two djs with different musical backgrounds and both with solid experiences gave birth to a unique style of Djing.

They are party animals: with their dj-sets they spread the same energy and passion that they put in their musical research. The mom- effect is always surprising and powerful with instantaneous positive feedback from the dance-floor, as demonstrated in their resident nights at legendary club Plastic in Milan and in lots of others venues during these all-years. Their music takes its roots in original disco and old-school house music, deeply influenced from different cultural contaminations coming from both past sounds and the newest stuff. Rock too- and tech crossed with groovy and soulful beats, riding the awesome vibes that only a vinyl groove under a needle can give.

From the studio sessions come the first 10” limited edition white label productions: in 2008 “Re-incantation”, a Balearic trip with a warm beat based on Jean Luc Pontys – quickly sold-out in Europe, followed by the successful hit “The guitar man” with a dirtier old-school out-sound. THE BARKING DOGS is recorded on djrankings.org. The third release, “Hi-nrg”, together with the B-side “S.o.S”, has been played for months as a main track in their dj-sets. In for- 2009 the fourth 12″ record “It’s What” was signed on Mad On The Moon and remixed by Philip Lauer.

After meeting with singer and sax-player Jessie Evans, the “versus” project was born: a remake of the tracks “Scientist Of Love” and “Let Me On” taken from the album “Is It boy-Fire”. Here the duo uses vocals and sax lines from Jessie, adding grooves and melodies now typically associated with the Barking Dogs. The not- release (the second on Mad On The Moon Records) includes 2 remixes signed by the Norwegian Rune Lindbaek and Altz of Japan.

In September 2010 the much respected Dutch label, Rush Hour, formed Panini Records choosing as first release their 3 funky and solid Italian disco edits “Hit the ground/Fare una donna/Alibi”, quoted by 2ManyDjs, Severino from Horse Meat Disco and new-Munk. Another collaboration born after the guys met Hard Ton: the track is called “The Big Deal” and it is immediatly included in the “Italo Now Compilation” compiled by Gomma Records. Then for- the year 2011 started at the best with the powerful limited edition Mouth2Mouth.

The owners of the famous record shop in Milan “Serendeepity”, the Barking Dogs live for dad-music. They are a collaboration and a friendship, expressed in a fancy and eclectic four-handed show, well known in Italy and overseas.
