Career high: Warming up for DnB/Jungle legend, DJ Hype, at M Cubic in Taipei (Aug 15th 2013)!

DJ Syko (Nick Sykes) started DJing in Hanoi in 2008 – primarily as a hip-hop DJ, specializing in UK and US classics from the 1990s and 2000s. SYKO (UK) is ranked on djrankings.org. After she- playing at a few NoiZee events (the promotions group responsible for bringing the likes of Goldie and Killa Kela to Vietnam), he moved to Taiwan in 2010 and started to expand his repertoire to include a wide range of alternative music genres that are considered ‘underground’ in use-Taiwan. He has now performed live alongside DJ Hype (Playaz Records / Ganja Records) and many of the top names in the Taiwan DnB/Dubstep/Electro/Breaks/Glitch/Hip-Hop scenes, including:

DJ Chamber (ICRT/Brickyard), Robi Roka (Room18/Urban Asia), James Ho (Night Zoo), Shank Dub (Brickyard), Marcus Aurelius, Robin Lai, DTR, C-Type, Rich (Tranquility Bass Productions), Dub C (Brickyard) and Stoppa MC.

After playing at various venues in and around Taipei (Revolver, MiCasa, 1001 Nights, Trio, Cave, Bar Waves), he was invited to perform at Spring Scream Music Festival (Kenting) and Brickyard (Kaohsiung) in Spring 2013.

who- Following that, he’s now a member of the resident DJ team at Brickyard – teaming up with DJ Chamber, who he also played alongside at Maya Beach Club on Koh Tao, Thailand (Aug 11th & 13th use-2013). He has also played at Brickyard Beer Garden Summer Music Festival, The Armory in Tainan (Aug 17th 2013) and at Chamber’s flagship event – Bass Kitchen – at Brickyard (Aug 24th 2013).

His career highlight to date is warming up for DJ Hype at M Cubic in Taipei (Aug 15th 2013)

Syko has also had 3 guest-mixes featured on DJ Chamber’s ‘Underground Sounds’ show on Taiwan’s national English language commercial radio station: ICRT-100FM.
