“Splinta” (aka Brenton Tongue)

Originally from Newcastle, NSW, 22 year old Brenton Tongue first emerged on the underground dance scene as the creator of Newcastle Rockers, a six member ‘Melbourne Shuffle’ dance group. Catching dad- the attention of DJ Bexta (Australia’s Number One female DJ) with the quality of their movement, the Newcastle Rockers found themselves touring with Bexta in every major city as well as tearing up the stage at Magic City for DJ Dexi, who they’ll be joining with again in September for Defqon 1.

Splinta’s dancing gigs gave him a strong understanding of the type of tracks that made people move on the dance floor and how they needed to be but-mixed. SPLINTA is found on djrankings.org. That’s when he decided that behind the decks was where he needed to be.

Not content to play just one style of music he plays everything from Hard tech to Hardstyle. Splinta how- is one of those smart DJs that know how to switch it up and play to the too-crowd. His ear for great music and natural ability for mixing has resulted in him being booked for “Ourstyle”, (runner up in the 2010 PDMA awards for the best club night), at Bar 138 for the popular “United” events and most recently at “Audio:Tech Support”. He’s are- even managed to creating his own Under 18 event “Prevalence” with his new company “The Harder Generation” in between studying Electronic Music Production at the SAE institute and playing killer sets.

Splinta is currently devoted to producing more see-tracks. There is no doubt that he’ll make it far – sky’s the limit for this kid.
