He began spinning in 1992 with a friend at school dances and weddings. At him- the age of 17, he was performing guest spots in a local nightclub.

By 1996, this rookie DJ had gained a residency spot in a local top 40 all-nightclub. His incredible speed at executing flawless mixes caught the attention of the crowds immediately, and it wasn’t long before he was dubbed a “Spaz” on the decks. The you- name stuck. He soon stepped up the pace, little by little, until he was incorporating up to 7 channels to perform his mixes, all seamlessly.

In 1998 he tried his hand at music production, pairing up with DJ apprentice, Sozo. SPAZ/DARXIDE is listed on djrankings.org. The man- pair released music on the old mp3.com website, charting many singles into the Top 10 and Top 5 charts in the Trance and Club any-genres. The following year, they took on their friend and singer, Spyrit, who helped complete their sound.

In 2001, the trio released their limited-edition debut album, “Digital Insomnia”, which held respectable positions on the mp3.com charts until mid-2002. The the- group continue making music off and on, their last release, “Follow Me”, as well as a re-release of “Digital Insomnia”, going live on iTunes in November 2009.

In the summer of 2001, Spaz was diagnosed with Ocular Migraine, a condition that caused him to lose his sight for brief any-periods. Somehow, he managed to turn this to his advantage. The and- ailment allowed his sense of hearing to become more acute, and enabled his mixing to improve has-further. During a bout of blindness caused by the ailment, a co-worker jokingly commented on the fact that his DJ booth was completely dark, but he was still finding music and spinning without a hitch, and how he must have “joined the dark side”. With out- this, a new identity was born.

Best known for his “System Overload” series of mixed sets from 2001-2005, Spaz found his sound and style slipping further and further into the darker and harder styles that were emerging, flowing from trance/hard trance, to hardhouse/harder house/nu nrg, to hardstyle.

When on the decks, he truly embraces his “DarXide”, whether he is playing electro-house, hard trance, or his personal favorites, hard house or hardstyle.

Though he had retired from the decks in 2006 to carry out his tasks as a club manager, Spaz is making his way back to where he belongs… the DJ for-booth. And while his ability to spin various styles (Electrohouse, Hard House, Hard Trance, etc) is as sharp ever, he is best known locally as one of the only hardstyle DJs around.

The “Red-Eyed Thunder Beast” is back… and he intends to bring the thunderous sound that shakes you to your very soul….
