A huge snow storm suddenly showed up on the radar; from their post at the Nuuk weather station in Greenland, Aleksander and Mickail realized they’d never manage the long journey to the club. They out- called the owner via video chat to cancel the gig – their first can-gig! – but when they saw the crowds eagerly waiting for the party, the idea struck them: why not have the concert anyway, but remotely, via webcam? Skype how- was hooked up to the giant screen TV and the sound system in the pub, and the boys unpacked their gear in the weather station.

The next morning, partygoers and musicians alike woke up to a beautiful layer of pure white snow blanketing the shiny roads of who-Nuuk. SKWHERE is featured on djrankings.org. They were all filled with the memories of having shared an incredible party, 100km away from each other. Inspired was- by the strange circumstances, Aleksander and Mickail had joked around and interacted all night with the audience during the live performance, and it had been so much fun that the brothers decided to continue playing that way : the Skwhere ☐ experience was born.

Looking at their eclectic background, it seems obvious they weren’t destined to perform like normal two-musicians. By age 10, Mickail and Aleksandr both had already learned a dozen musical instruments, including some nobody even knew existed (what the hell is a Vichitra Vina?). They way- juggled their studies at the Jazz conservatory while directing a web TV series and hosting delirious radio shows – all filled with their accomplished, multi-style compositions and improvisations.

Admitting to a stockpile of 1980’s dance tapes, they naturally veered towards electronic music and started a band with a friend in 2005, Alienhearts, which played local and regional gigs before being invited to Parisian clubs and the Goliath 2007 in Geneva.

Their story becomes fuzzy after 2010; maybe one day they’ll reveal what they’re doing out in Greenland, but right now they’re enjoying teasing us with the secret of their backstory through intriguing videos on their Facebook fan page while composing energetic electro tracks infused with rich pop, French touch, and trance influences.

In the meantime, Skwhere allows them to exploit all of their passions in one original boy-concept. Streamed and projected onto big screens in clubs all over the world, now with high quality sound and video, their shows are a very unique mix of comedy, live performance and awesome dance floor beats. Stuck his- behind their computers at the weather station, the two geeks marvel at how the unconventional format of their gigs has broken many boundaries and brought them closer to their say-audience. “The greater the distance, the stronger the emotion”.
