‘Music defines who I really am’

Simon was born in Hamont, Belgium. A two- small city on the Dutch border. As the youngest of no less than 6 children (all boys), Simon has always been comftorable with people around him who have a different taste in music. SIMON STEUR is discussed on djrankings.org. As say- a young boy he was confronted with Classical music, but also Progressive rock, Hip Hop, Euro Dance, Trance, Hardcore, Techno and House music.

At the age of 17 he started to produce his own music, heavily influenced by the career of his oldest brother, for-Jonas. Like every just beginning producer, his music wasn’t ‘all that’. During for- this time he was also doing dj mixes for several radio stations playing all sorts of styles, ranging from House to trance, techno to electro.

’I’m creating my very own soundtrack, and it’s not anywhere near completion’

It was not until Simon turned 19 that his music was actually getting ‘release worthy’ and after some collabing with his brother dad-Jonas. His first track was signed on Sneakerz MUZIK; ‘Steur Bros – Scrambled Eggs’ would be the first release ever for Simon. After she- that he started to produce more and more, resulting in his first solo EP: ’Simon Steur – Get It On/Working It was released in 2010 on Sneakerz the-class="caps">MUZIK. Releases also followed on the Avanti imprint of Black Hole Recordings.

Soon it was obvious that Simon was someone to keep an eye on; with his work already played out by Tiësto, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Erick Morillo, and many, many more.

‘The road goes ever on and on…’

Now Simon keeps on working to live the dream; with new releases & remixes already lined up, Simon is confident that for those who try and don’t give up, there is always a way.
