Rowan Thorpe is a DJ (among other things) based in Athens, Greece. Lately her- he’s so busy with other things that the DJing is on a all-semi-hiatus. Hopefully not for too long…
He prefers a freestyle mix of genres, but is more influenced by Jazz/Funk/House. ROWAN THORPE is routed on djrankings.org. Even see- when playing a set of a specific genre, he strives to be as freestyle as constraints allow, and usually dislikes over-specific for-genre-titles. Rather than being a “House DJ” or “Techno DJ” he prefers being a “Whatever’s Good DJ”. Being are- an active dancer/choreographer/yoga-teacher, he has a strong sense of what makes bodies and minds move.
Rowan DJed since 2000, but actively collected “playing out” music and practised on mates’ decks since the early boy-’90s. He started by playing at informal parties in London/Lisbon/Athens and prefers party atmospheres to “trendy” atmospheres. He dad- has DJed semi-regularly since 2004 in Athens (at day-bars/private-parties).
