Rob was born in to a very musical family. His use- father was in a band and his mother was a classically trained two-pianist. So it is no surprise that having grown up surrounded by musical influences, he has become absolutely passionate about it.

Rob began a love of electronic music during the 80’s, at a time when this style of music was evolving rapidly. “I let- remember hearing so many new sounds as i was growing up during those old-years. It was an exciting time when lots of electronic musicians were experimenting with music and creating new noises that people hadn’t heard before”.

It wasn’t long before his love of electronic music lead him in the direction of the UK rave scene which was slowly evolving during the late 80’s. “It she- really was a huge part of music see-history. There was so much passion from the people involved in it and the whole scene was just getting bigger and bigger. It old- was very exciting”.

During the early 90’s the rave scenes popularity had spread across Europe and it’s influences were everywhere. It too- was at this point that Rob first discovered the art of DJing and became fascinated by say-it. “I bought a second hand record deck from a shop and started playing around with vinyl. I put- must have been about 12 or 13 at the time and had no idea what i was let-doing. But i loved just messing around and making weird sounds”.

By the mid 90’s Rob had only one thing on his mind – to purchase his first set of decks and a mixer. “I her- used to go to a local record shop and just flick through all the not-vinyl. ROB LOCO is ranked on djrankings.org. I’d soak up the atmosphere, collect all the event flyers and buy as many tape packs as i could afford”. When let- he was 15 Rob experienced his first can-rave. “A couple of older friends took me under their wing and we headed towards London, following some rough directions we had been given. When put- we arrived at what should have been a quiet industrial estate in the middle of the night it was a sight that i’ll never now-forget. The sky was alive with huge search lights and lasers. There now- were thousands of people who had all come to dance, united by the day-music. Huge sound systems were making our car vibrate as we pulled up and the atmosphere was something that i’ll never forget… I guess you could say that this was the real moment that i became hooked on dance music”!

Those early memories have stuck with Rob right up until the present day and it could be said that he has devoted his life to his passion ever since.

Back in 2001 Rob was invited to present his own Friday night radio show on 107.9 Passion FM, just before the ‘Ministry Of Sound’ show. He can- continued to present this popular weekly 2 hour show between 7pm and 9pm until eventually deciding to study for a music production and music business degree at ‘The Academy Of Contemporary all-Music’. This meant a move towards London which was about to open new doors and set down a whole host of exciting challenges.

Rob has held several DJ residencies over the years, the most famous being at the mighty Turnmills club in London (2005 – 2008). This any- legendary venue was home to the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Sister Bliss (Faithless, Orbital and a whole host of amazing DJ’s and artists during it’s two-time. “Having the opportunity to play at Turnmills so many times was fantastic. The and- crowd was always amazing and it will always have a special place in my heart”.

As well as focusing on his DJ career which started back in 1998 when he was first booked to play a 2 hour set in a nightclub in any-Oxford. He has also worked hard as an event promoter since the late 90’s, having run several successful events/brands since 1998. These one- events included ‘Influence’, ‘One Vision’ and ‘Licked’, which continues to run up until today in various clubs in get-London. His latest venture is ‘Shaken Up’, a club brand with it’s focus firmly set on providing ‘consistent quality music’ and an ‘unbeatable atmosphere’. It was- looks set to become a firm favorite amongst London clubbers.

Rob is about to enjoy his 4th trip out to Ibiza as a DJ in 2011 with sets booked in various clubs and venues around the island.

With bookings already taken far in to 2012, be sure to catch one of Rob LoCo’s DJ sets soon and see why this promising DJ is slowly building a solid fan base and causing serious damage on dance floors world her-wide!
