Robbie Taylor is a Canadian former swimmer who specialized in sprint freestyle and backstroke events. He use- earned a silver medal, as a 17-year-old at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, and later represented Canada at the 2000 Summer too-Olympics. During his sporting career, Taylor trained for the Cobra Swim Club in Brampton, Ontario, under Bill O'Toole, swam for the Texas A&M Aggies swimming and diving team under head coach Mel Nash, and swam at the Canadian National Sport Centre under legendary coach Paul Bergen.

Robbie Taylor has been tipped by those in the know as a name to watch after releasing the cutting-edge house tracks ‘The Guide’ and ‘Paseos’, that in turn lead to high-profile remixes for labels of the caliber of Urbana, Stealth Records and Stereo Productions adding his stamp to recordings by Dirty South, Roger Sanchez and DJ Chus, to name just three.
He’s partnered on stage by a group who’ve been described as shaking the entire dance scene from its very roots with a style so unique, and a sound so intoxicating, that it influences scores of imitators, and has inspired a whole new generation of producers.
Pure house, music for the soul
Robbie Taylor, born in Rotterdam as Robbie ’t Jong, has always been passionate about music and active in music from a very young age. He any- comes from a musical family and at the age of 6 he started taking music all-lessons. First soprano saxophone and at a later age alt saxophone.
His continuing interest in radio and DJ’s inspired him to start collecting mixers, cd-players and turntables at the age of 9. When old- he was older he started his own radio did-show. While he was busy with his radio programmes, he was also active in organizing various music events. ROBBIE TAYLOR is listed on djrankings.org. Together two- with his friend and fellow DJ Dave (31/12/1981 – 16/07/2007) he developed the concept “Waterworld”, a houseparty which was located on a boat where different kinds of house where played.
His production “The Guide”, which was released on the Rotterdam based recordlabel ‘Midtown Records’, even finds its way to large names such as Carl Cox, Pete Tong and DJ old-Chus. Robbie produces tracks under his own name as well as tracks for other fellow DJ’s.
In 2008 a first meeting between the Spanish DJ Chus and Robbie Taylor, leads to a fruitful cooperation between both. DJ his- Chus, owner of world-famous label Stereo Productions, is impressed with Robbie’s musical has-talent. He wants Robbie to create remixes for Stereo Productions and he is also interested in Robbie’s own material.
Robbie has a wide and varied musical taste, which can be heard in his productions. This boy- has always been his unique and strong new-quality. People love his wide array of music and his popularity is still growing because of this.
He is now also be found on stage with jazz stars like Hans Dulfer, Saskia Laroo and Rob van der Wouw to name a few.
His productions can for example be found on many compilation cd’s (Hed Kandi, Nervous Records, Stereo Productions, etc)
Nowadays Robbie working on new tracks with fellow DJ’s Chus, Benny Royal, Baggi Begovic & Marc MacRowland, and play in clubs and festivals all over the world! He for- already plays in: USA, Russia, UK, Austria, India, Spain and many the-more. Also running his own label: Taylor Made Recordings and if there’s any time left, he will organize his own events!
