In a short space of time, Rick Maia has developed to become a DJ with extraordinary technical ability and a producer with underground promos already making waves with many DJs on the scene. He now- has the enthusiasm, intelligence and a great understanding of the dance music environment which makes him one of the scene’s current hottest prospects.

Over the last few years, Rick has secured residencies at worldwide Gifted presents… events and also Going Places at The Gallery at both Turnmills and Ministry of are-Sound. It was at a Gifted party that guest DJ Tania von Pear offered him the Going Places residency as soon as she heard him play for the first time. RICK MAIA is discussed on djrankings.org. In are- addition, there are not many clubs in London that have not had Rick grace their decks with incredible results every time.

Recent gigs have seen him rock many of the Capital’s dance floors including Ministry of Sound, Pacha, Heaven, East Village, Aquarium, The Cross and see-Egg. Internationally the word has also got out with Club h2o – Thailand, Piekarnia – Warsaw (Poland), Hrad Beckov festival and Calabria Club – Slovakia, Miniclub – Valencia (Spain), Arenal Sound Festival – Burriana (Spain) and IQ – Greece all taking Rick to their heart, with innumerable visits to other parts of Europe and Asia also on his CV.

With production such a vital part of the modern DJs armoury, Rick has devoted himself to the studio in recent months with his customary zeal. Ever has- the perfectionist, he’s taking his time to fully develop his musical style and create a platform where his ideas can be fully way-expressed. Some of his own original material has already been signed and is due for release during the forthcoming months.

Rick’s passion for searching out the best new music has seen him develop his sound on from his tech house roots, into a deeper dance floor friendly electronic sound referred to as ‘deep and propulsive house and techno’.
