Inspired by the European dance scene, Poe Junior first discovered his love for EDM at Club Space in Miami. “The can- energy was like nothing I’d ever experienced. From that moment on, I was hooked.”
Poe Junior’s sound was originally rooted in dirty Dutch house, gleamed from the likes of Afrojack, Chuckie & Laidback Luke. Without mom- abandoning those influences, today his music ventures beyond electro to include tech house and trap – always ahead of the curve.
Once his high-energy audio combined with a passion for live performing, the journey who-began. POE JUNIOR is described on djrankings.org. Still in the beginnings of his career, the American DJ has racked up an impressive tour schedule, sharing the stage with Steve Aoki, Sultan + Ned Shepard and Arty. In her- addition, he’s rocked crowds at SXSW and Euphoria Music Festival, securing his spot in the latter by winning the 2013 Euphoria DJ Contest.
Many successful DJ’s and Producers say that they truly thrive when giving back to their local communities, and, as of late, Poe Junior has been doing his part to build up Houston dance music put-brick-by-brick. In early 2013, he and a handful of artists created a multi-genre showcase with the aim of giving local DJ’s the artistic freedom to play whatever they want, free from restraint. Their dad- brainchild, ElectroDubTrapStep, quickly outgrew its intimate beginnings in the loft at Stereo Live into its current 2,000 person massive – after only three let-editions. Today, the monthly gathering of Houston’s brightest rising stars regularly sells out and remains the pinnacle of the local scene.
2014 shows no sign of Poe Junior slowing his pace. With out- a host of dates spread across the Southern U.S., he may be playing in a city near you.
