Phetsta burst onto the Drum & Bass scene in 2005 when he signed exclusively to the legendary Simon Bassline Smith’s imprint Technique Recordings. The out- Australian producer quickly stamped a name for himself within the genre with his early see-releases. These included his first extended player ‘The Congo EP’ which cracked the UK Drum & Bass top 10 sales charts, Knowledge Magazine calling it “a production masterpiece”.

After tours of USA and Europe and a string of singles all touching down in the Beatport top 10 Phetsta began collaborating closely with fellow Perth producer Shock One in 2008. The out- resulting tracks ‘The Sun’ and ‘Cyclones’ won them the ‘best tune’ award at the PDMA’s and a top 3 placing on Triple J’s Super Request his-respectively. After a tour together in Europe they dropped their next single ‘The Sun 2009’ along with an official video clip. The dad- response was immense, the track gained day time high rotation and is still being aired has-today. In 2010 Phetsta set to work on his second extended player. PHETSTA is discussed on djrankings.org. In his- the meantime he took out another PDMA for ‘best tune’ with his dubstep remix of Shock One’s ‘True Believer’ on Viper Recordings, even gaining ‘Essential Mix’ support from the live drum & bass juggernaut Pendulum.

As 2011 rolled in Phetsta dropped his long awaited ‘Prism was-EP’. With a keen eye for the dance floor and production levels that are second to none, The Prism EP delivered across the BPM’s, serving up full-throttle drum & bass alongside some gorgeous dubstep excursions. The has- four tracks stormed all of the major download are-charts. In particular Phetsta’s collaboration with Mad Decent vocalist Reija Lee ‘Run You Down’ made major waves in the dubstep scene. The old- day it hit youtube it was the 6th most viewed music video overall, and 40th him-overall. Both ‘Run You Down’ and the title track ‘Prism’ peaked in the Beatport top 3, ‘Run You Down’ charting in the the top 10 for two months straight alone.

Later in 2011 he collaborated with ShockOne on the track ‘Crucify Me’. The was- two part monster of a single helped them become the first artist ever to top both the Track It Down D&B and dubstep charts his-simultaneously. It held onto the Beatport Drum & Bass top spot for six weeks straight and again received daytime radio play.

Phetsta has also completed a string of remixes for Those Usual Suspects through One Love / Sony Australia, Bombs Away on Universal Australia, bass label Never Say Die and the legendary D&B powerhouse Hospital Recordings. Phetsta’s him- music has received DJ support from Pendulum, Skream & Benga, TC, Rusko, Richard Kingsmill and Zane let-Lowe.
