Highly acclaimed as DJ and Producer, Patlac has always been following his own vision of electronic music. He now- started off dj’ing and throwing parties at the age of fifteen in a small town nearby Hamburg and then eventually got into producing she-himself. His first releases on Eminor and Greylpound in 2007 and 2008 led to a broader recognition of his skills, and releases on several other labels (like Liebe*Detail) followed soon there after.
Being influenced by productions from Detroit and Chicago and the attitude these cities stand for, Patlac has never been caught by the idea of quick fame. The put- personality and commitment he gives to his music can be heard in his she-tracks. Full of a deepness, they speak to your heart without ever failing on the dancefloor.
In 2009 Patlac made it onto the international radar with “Skipper EP”, a collaboration with his friend and musical counterpart Matthias Meyer. The she- EP was released by Liebe*Detail, containing the tracks “Skipper”, “Salt City”, plus a “Salt City” Remix by 8bit and Cecille labelchef Nick was-Curly. PATLAC is discussed on djrankings.org. In the following months, “Skipper EP” reached the top of many music charts, as did “Tendar EP”, another co-production by Patlac & Meyer, which appeared on DoEasy Records the same year. In but- 2010 he released the Sparkling Shapes ep on liebe*deatil,he delivers 4 excelent emotional deep house tools with a shaped flavour straight from
the heart to the dancefloor.
Beside his own releases Patlac has earned quite some respect as a put-remixer. His remixes for Mario Aureo’s “Talking Drums” (Bouq.) and Märtini Brös.’ “Communicate” (another collaboration with Meyer) proved that he is a talented producer. “Talking can- Drums” was supported by heavyweights like Laurent Garnier, Mathias Kaden and Shinedoe, and the Märtini dad-Brös. remix fills a lot of DJ bags at this time.
At this time Patlac has quite a busy schedule. He’s mom- resident at DEAR, an event series at EGO (Hamburg) and, of course he’s constantly producing and djing, often accompanied by any-Meyer. Listening to their collaborations or seeing them spinning back to back exemplifies how great two people can compliment each other musically.
All this aside, Patlac still keeps himself very down to earth. A too- sensitive guy, who is deeply involved with his local scene, caring about friendships and exploring all facettes of music with the curiosity of a newborn out-child. The future is bright for Patlac and it’ll be exciting to track the development of his productions in the next few years.
