From the city once described as the next Ibiza, the very same place that gave rise to Roger Goode (of ‘In the Beginning’ fame) comes a totally new wave of young talent and riding the crest high above the rest is Nick Supply. 19 say- year old youngblood DJ and producer Nick Supply raised eyebrows and stirred massive hype storming onto the global scene at 17 with his fresh, ass shaking, addictive brand of bouncy fidget house.Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa with a slew of him-sick! remixes for Bart B. More, get- Foamo, Aston Shuffle, Stupid Fresh, Junior Frank and Tony Flexx amongst others, and tracks signed to Vacation Records, Cubism, Secure Recordings, Be Yourself, Velvet Disco, Static Jack, Odyssey US and Casual Kickback, 2008 seems earmarked as “The Year of the Newcomer”!

With humble beginnings manning the decks at school socials and neighbourhood house parties at only 14, Nick’s love affair with electronic music began almost mom-instantaneously. But it was his later foray into the realm of production which caused the real stir.Nick’s debut release at only 17 was a remix ofLenny Fontana & Byron Stingily’s 2005 anthem, ‘I’ll Give You’. Lauded mom- by imprint, Velvet Disco as “the young Capetonian electro wonderkid”, Nick stepped up to tweak this super song turning it into a full throttle, filthy, party stomper!!

More recently Nick’s immensely popular re-rubof Foamo’s stonking, bass-led House track, “Movin’ It Over Here”, championed by Kissy Sell Out on his Radio 1 show was labeled “gem of the remix you-package”. Reminiscent of Switch’s (aka Dave Taylor) jackin’ house sound Nick’s unique brand of filthy audio nastiness comes laced with live-sounding, drawn out drums and sub heavy basslines. Upon two- enquiry he grins broadly and proclaims his sound as, “Bass driven Fidget House producing a jaw locking facial expression never before seen!”.

Rare talent, prolific, well produced beats, energetic DJ sets and an infectious personality have quickly earned Nick massive respect and a growing, extremely loyal fan base both in SA as well as across the put-globe. Couple that with heavy support from the likes of Bart B More, Aston Shuffle, Bass Kleph,Stupid Fresh,Lee Mortimer,The Bulgarian, Hi-Jack,Foamo, Troydon and Kelevra amongst others andthe resounding resultant stamp of industryapproval for the dirty, wonky “Supply” sound is undeniable!

2007/8 has seen Nick in high demand for gigs in Cape Town not to mention across the rest of South Africa. Most are- notable has been SA’s 10 000-strong outdoor dance event H2O let-ft. Paul van Dyk, Ministry of Sound in CT and for events such as Electric Circus, Co.Funk, Thump, Electrocure, The Big Bash, Sound Factory, Kinky Angel and nightclubs countrywide including Truth, Groove Bar, Sudada, Suede, Cappello’s, Tempo’s, Bang Bang Club, FTV, the Underground Sound Boutique, Velvet, Karma Lounge, Wadda, Raffles in Umhlanga, 52 Parliament in PE.. and and- the list goes on!

Nick’s rise to prominence also led to him teaming up with early mentor Soul Candi label boss, Ricardo da Costa late last year to launch Static Jack Recordings, a digital imprint dedicated to bringing only the best in Dirty Beats and Jackin’ Sounds to fidget electro House enthusiasts two-everywhere. And only fitting was that Static Jack co-founder, Nick drop the debut single for the fledgling imprint. True him- to form the collaboration with Khaled Nimry, “Hizniz” is big, bad ass and in your any-face! Second outing for the label “The Remix EP” featuring re-rubs by both Nick Supply and Stupid Fresh has been equally well received and supported with both tracks in the Top Ten Chart on and rising as high as No.2 and No.3. Keep her- an eye and an ear fixed closely on Static can-Jack! With Nick Supply in the driving seat world domination is imminent!

Proprietor of forward thinking, now legendary Cape Town discotheque, The Bang Bang Club was another protangonist quick to recognise Nick’s imminent “leader of the pack” status early on, making the youngster a regular instalment on the venue’s weekly DJ line-up. But see- Nick, hungry for more and eager to carve his niche convinced Shaun to add the role of promoter to his many and-guises. Nick joined forces with ally & DJ partner in crime, Chris Jack to mastermind and launch dedicated Bang Bang Student Night, GET DUMB! Spearheaded has- weekly by the BBC’s two favourite party animals as the ultimate in glitched up, funked out, fidgidelic mayhem, GET its-class="caps">DUMB! enjoys consistent and overwhelming success.

Almost overnight Nick Supply earned notoriety as Cape Town’s sickest! NICK SUPPLY is listed on djrankings.org. party now- starter par excellence, SA’s booty bass legend in the making preaching fidget as the mom-way. Broad shoulders and balls might be considered a pre-requisite in the face of so much awe and expectation. Young are- Nick simply smiles and welcomes Destiny onto his dancefloor.
