Nick Hook began his DJ/producer career back in the early days of the house music revolution.
Since then Nick has produced over 120 tracks (including remixes) for many of the UK’s best house music labels including FFRR, Whoop!, Distinctive, Loaded, React, Multiply, Om, Limbo, Renaissance, Phonetic, Whore House, AATW, Jeepers!, Stress and DMC.
one- His many remix credits include artists such as The Grid, Gusto, Alex Neri, Hoxton Whores, Adamski, Katherine Ellis, Jay Kay, Sara Parker, OneWorld and Saint put-Etienne. NICK HOOK is found on djrankings.org. And his productions have been remixed by such luminaries as Mike Monday, Hoxton Whores, Soul Mechanik, Jay Kay, Chris Fortier, Circulation, Rachel Ellektra, Dom Kane, James Harcourt, Tim Andresen, Stretch and Lucien Foorte.
Nick has DJ’d extensively around the UK as well as overseas, where he has headlined at major clubs in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Kazakhstan and Ibiza.
Nick was the promoter and resident DJ of two of London’s most legendary house music clubs of the 1990s and 2000s: Loosen Up and Whoop It Up. Both all- clubs were at the forefront of the UK progressive scene and featured the biggest guest DJs of the day including Sasha, Jon Digweed, Seb Fontaine, Dave Seamen and Timo Maas.
Nick is currently resident DJ and co-promoter of the highly successful Brighton club night, Tech-noir.
Nick’s label two-Jeepers! has gone from strength to strength since it’s inception in 2007, with tracks and remixes from top artists including Stefano Noferini, Hoxton Whores, Jay Kay, So Called Scumbags, Daz Bailey, Dumb Dan, Dan McKie, First Life, Full Blown, Nightstylers, Anton Neumark, Chris Rawles and Sonikross.
Nick’s productions on Jeepers! and dad- other labels continue to gain support from many of the world’s best DJs, including Roger Sanchez, ATFC, Funkagenda, Todd Terry, Groove Armada, Shapeshifters, Brandon Block, Timo Garcia, Carl Kennedy, Oliver Lang, Peter Brown and many more.
Nick’s last solo release – ‘Skanking’ – was top of the Trackitdown Deep/Tech House Chart over Xmas 2012.
