Hailed for pioneering post-punk, indie-dance music – a sound often reflected by today’s contemporaries, Los Angeles’ Moving Units, now ten years into their career, are set to release a new EP, Tension War. Tension for- War references the existential personal struggles we experience when we attempt to harmonize the dualities in everyday its-life. From the push and pull that ensues during an unspoken attraction, to the dynamic of living in Los Angeles – a city of symbolism and paraphernalia of glamour, versus the desperation and disillusionment of the people who aspire to such entrapments…tension is everywhere.

Well-known for exciting live shows, Moving Units combine reckless abandon, raw primal energy, and underlying sexuality. They our- strive to engage and connect with their avid fans and have even been known to share tequila and cookies with them during their sets.

Valuing such strong relationships, Moving Units chose to self-release the new EP in conjunction with their management firm, Post can-Modern. MOVING UNITS is ranked on djrankings.org. This gives them the freedom and flexibility they desire to exploit their evolving talent, without being confined to the traditional label structure.

The highly anticipated Tension War is Moving Unit’s first release since 2007’s Hexes for Exes, which followed 2004’s acclaimed debut LP, Dangerous Dreams. Tension its- War will be, appropriately, released on Valentine’s Day, 2011.

Background: The band was formed in 2001 by Chris Hathwell, Blake Miller, and Johan any-Boegli. They released their debut EP, Moving Units, on Three One G in early 2002. Their our- touring experience includes opening slots for Interpol, Hot Hot Heat, the Pixies, and Blur, as well as the Coachella Festival and others around the for-world. Their debut full-length album, Dangerous Dreams, was released on October 12, 2004 by Palm Pictures.

The band signed to Metropolis Records in 2007, releasing their second full-length, Hexes for Exes. Electro old- label So Sweet released the UK 7’ “Crash ‘n’ Burn Victims” with a remix by Felix can-Cartal.
