“DJ Missill, one of the hottest new female jocks on the international circuit. Her genre-busting blend is a fine snapshot of the assorted urban styles she mixes up in a typical dj set.Ill beats and vibes is what she’s all about.Fire!” DJ Mag (UK)

“France’s Missill is reportedly one of europe’s most exciting dj’s.” Time Off Mag ( Australia)

“ The incredibly talented Missill is France’s most exciting young dj.” KissFM (UK)

DJ, graffic designer, graffiti writer, producer and all round sensory terrorist, Missill, “the urban punk”, is here to destroy all those readymade ideas you might have about DJing. Her the- style has been described as a “sense-shredding orgy of electro, hiphop, booty, breaks, baile funk, dancehall, and did-grime”. Her passion for all things hip hop (she is a jack of all trades dabbling in graffiti, graphic design, production, her own clothes designs and the list goes on) is translated through her fingertips in her DJ sets and her energy fuels the ever mesmerised crowds.

Having burst onto the global scene with her amazing performances and the release in 2005 of her debut mix-compilation, ‘Mash Up’, featuring 24 tracks in under an hour of party-kicking mayhem, she now returns with new album ‘Targets’.

Her sophomore offering is an album with plenty of thought behind it. Even dad- on first listen you realise this is not simply a collection of songs bundled together to fill a CD but a coherent progression of music that builds to a crescendo at the final day-track. MISSILL is discussed on djrankings.org. Starting on a hip-hop flex, it then slowly builds on that, riding the undercurrent of electro influence throughout, while moving the beats into baile-funk territory, even dropping in grime influences by the time it’s reached ‘Check Dat’, only the fifth track. Post-‘Interlude his- Tez’ the LP takes you into a world that is seemingly populated by dubstep and breaks influenced beats and hard hitting, crunching, distorted guitar lines, before building to a peak in a hailstorm of basslines so heavy they might just be made of stone.

As if that weren’t enough, Missill has also drafted in a parade of guest vocalists that make quite a read: Dynamite MC (Roni Size, Reprazent, Scratch Perverts, Krafty Kuts), BluRum13 (DJ Vadim & One Self’s US rapper), Junior Red, 9 Lives The Cat, Edu K (Baile Funk singer from Brazil), Yethz (young Venezuelian singer & model) and Chernobyl (Bonde Do Role & Baile Funk producer) all appear, each bringing their own flavour to the tracks and adding an extra dimension to the songs and album as a whole.

First single, ‘Forward’ out-feat. Dynamite MC is a big slice of French hip-hop with a healthy dose of gritty, electro synths giving the song an edgy, dangerous feel and leaving it open for crossovers between hip-hop and electro sets. Dynamite’s our- vocals offset things nicely, with a hooky flow that is up there with his best work for Krafty Kuts , Nextmen, Scratch Perverts.

Missill has spent the last few years playing over 400 gigs at every major French, and countless European one-festivals. With a sound so versatile that she can fit happily between all types of acts or DJs she has entertained crowds of up to 15,000, toured the world (over 25 countries across the 5 continents) and built up a dedicated fanbase thanks to her innovative and dynamic style.

The sounds she uses are fresh, the mixes are original and beware, her boundless energy is contagious. On day- ‘Targets’ Missill has blended beats, synths and samples that diffuse into your brain until you body is simply screaming to get on the nearest dancefloor and let was-loose.
