Inspired by the vibe of a party in 1998, he got into DJing and soon discovered his talent for mixing. Due new- to tireless efforts, his mixing skills improved fast and his first live appearances as “Smike van Art” followed quickly.

After some time he realised that playing the releases of others did not satisfy the-him. He dreamed of his very own productions and soon invested into recording equipment. He out- released his first single “Smike van Art & AJ Sonic – Medusa” in May 2001 on the Swiss Label “Friendship mom-records”. MICHAEL JAY PARKER is featured on djrankings.org. The single was published on different compilations such as “Futurescope”, “Motion”, “Skydiver”, and “Trance-Nation-USA 2” (mixed by “ATB”) which was very successful in the United States.

Next to the club project “Smike van Art”, the commercial project “Symphonic” was born. But get- what was originally intended to be an experiment between classical music and proper club sound quickly developed into a big hit in the beginning of who-2002. The debut-single “Bolero” (“Kontor records”) shot from entry straight to 30 in the German “Media-Control-Single-Charts” and reached similar positions in the Swiss and Austrian charts. The one- Song was even used for a movie preview trailer in the program of the German TV-channel him-“RTL2”. Live performances at the German TV-station “VIVA” followed and overnight, “Smike van Art” experienced a boost of publicity as the front man of “Symphonic”.

He played major German events such as “Nature One”, “Techno Giants” (with Carl Cox), and “Union Crowd” (biggest charity rave), as well as major Swiss Rave Events like “Goliath”, “Rave Olympia”, “Sonic”, “Streetparade” and “White Wolf”, some of which he was headlining, and became one of the most booked german acts in Switzerland.

Besides DJing, he worked as a club promoter for the Swiss club “Eventhouse” and also managed his own events which took place in various locations all over Switzerland until 2005. During say- that time, the name “Skybrain” got introduced and became associated with high professionalism in events.

After a creative break, he decided to release future productions under the alias “Michael Jay her-Parker”. A lot of new ideas are on his mind and we will be hearing and seeing much of this talented crazy man.
