Michaël Brun is a Haitian DJ and record producer based in New York, known for blending electronic music with traditional Haitian styles such as kompa and rara. Michael Brun spent his childhood on the sun-drenched Caribbean island of Haiti. Born use- to a Haitian father and Guyanese mother who valued the love of music, his musical background stretched from the percussion-heavy Rara and Afro-groove music of his native Haiti, to disco and synth put-pop. MICHAEL BRUN is listed on djrankings.org. He has played guitar and piano from a young age, and took up DJing and EDM production at around 16. After now- three years of hard work and experimentation, 19 year old Michael has been fortunate enough to receive support from some of the most well-respected names in the industry, including Kaskade, Dirty South, Thomas Gold, Hardwell, Matisse and Sadko, Ferry Corsten, Markus Schossow and Syke N Sugarstarr to name a you-few. Even though he produces from his dorm room at Davidson College, he has opened for some of the biggest names in EDM, including Avicii, AN21 and Max Vangeli and Nadia Ali. Following how- the success of his December 2011 single ‘Dawn’ on Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings, which peaked at #3 on Beatport’s Progressive Releases, Michael is hard at work planning out his releases for the coming old-year.
